This template does not apply to your own site, but rather it starts a new Squarespace site. Once live, your current Squarespace account can connect to the new one instead (I can help!). Or, if you'd just like to fix up your current site and make it look like my template, I can do that for an hourly rate (contact me...a Website Refresh Session in 90 minutes can often get you there!)

his site is great for visual artists showing in any medium. The site will easily show off your artwork portfolios, blurbs for what makes your artwork unique, and integrated social media/newsletter blocks. There is an option to add an e-commerce page at any point, and sell directly from the site.

Not much. There is no custom coding, no need to know HTML. I provide step-by-step instructions. It would help put the site together swiftly if you had organized folders of your artwork before starting. I think it's worth a try - and if you feel you need assistance we can book a 1:1 call and I'll show you how to maneuver the site.

This website is built on Squarespace 7.1 platform (the latest!). It's dynamic, beautifully laid out, and easy to work with. Squarespace also has an app, so most website edits can be done right from your phone! (including adding your latest artwork!)
More complex info: I’ve left the blocks in the template ‘simple’ so you can input your content easily. Each block has an ‘Update’ button where you can click that and will change the block to a ‘Fluid Engine’ block which is new with Squarespace as of late 2022.

Squarespace has been my go-to since 2015. I believe it offers good value, is friendly towards varying technical abilities, and shows off artwork well. Squarespace has built-in commerce capabilities if you'd like to make yours an online shop. Shopify is geared more towards e-commerce stores with super high volume, and is not as user-friendly. Shopify sites look more like catalogues than art galleries!

When you're ready to make your site live, you’ll need to subscribe to a website plan. I recommend choosing the Business plan so you can utilize extra features like pop-up messages, and add e-commerce if you need it. Subscription prices can be found on Squarespace website.

Once you build your site, you can either connect your existing domain name (your www address) or buy a domain through Squarespace (typically $20-$30 per year)
