Let's get your finances in order
With my clients, I’m always busy talking about what you need to do to sell more art. I think for years I’ve been skirting around accounting like it was the plague. I’ve decided to change that in 2021 and I would encourage all of you who are similarly frightened of your finances to take charge with me.
Reasons why I avoided accounting:
Assumed since I’m not an expert I didn’t know what I was doing
Figured my finances were so low it wouldn’t make a difference
Expected accounting software was too hard for me
Thought it would cause me extra work
If you can identify with any of this, let me know! If you can’t….wellll I’m happy for you.
I have a solution for you that I’m only sharing because it worked for me - Quickbooks Self Employed. I had the program running for by business in literally less than an hour, and I think this program would work well for artists too. It tracks expenses and income SO EASILY. At tax time you can pop out a report and be done with it. Please let me know if you decide to use it, and what you think!
